Convergys hiring 220 in Charlotte

Convergys announced Friday it has openings for 220 full-time positions at its two contact centers in Charlotte.

According to a release by the company, the jobs are in the customer service and sales support departments for its cable, satellite and automotive assistance industries.

"An anticipated ramp for one client program and continued hiring for another client has enabled us to provide additional employment opportunities for local job-seekers," said Miranda Lewis, Convergys recruitment manager in Charlotte. "We're looking for candidates who understand the importance of building strong customer relationships while helping to resolve a caller's inquiries or concerns."

The release states applicants should have customer service and sales experience, as well as computer skills.

Convergys currently employs more than 1,000 people in Charlotte and 500 people in Hickory.
