Crews to shut down I-485 exit for widening project

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Crews will shut down a busy exit on Interstate 485 as part of a widening project.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close the exit ramp from the I-485 inner loop to Johnston Road South at 9 p.m. Sunday.

Workers will install a crash cushion and barrier walls along the ramp to provide safety for workers.

The ramp should reopen by 3 a.m. Monday.
