UNION COUNTY, N.C. —
Union County deputies spent hours taking reports Saturday after someone vandalized dozens of vehicles in a subdivision.
Deputies said about 20 families came outside to find words etched into their cars in Hunter Oaks off Rea Road, just south of Tom Short Road in Waxhaw.
“Unfortunately, I guess, in upper and middle class neighborhoods it seems there are more kids interested in just hurting something that belongs to somebody else without any really gain other than their thrill of the moment,” said victim homeowner Larry Hockaday.
Hockaday said he's seen extra deputies patrolling the area since the vandals hit.
