CHARLESTON, S.C. —
Deputies in Charleston said a woman turned herself in after a financial audit revealed thousands of dollars were missing from a little league in North Charleston.
An investigation showed more than $8,300 was missing from the Lowcountry Little League program.
After the investigation, the sheriff’s office said Tanya Howard resigned from her position as the treasurer.
The league’s district administrator said the stolen money accounts for roughly one-quarter of the league’s budget.
