ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. —

A Rowan County deputy who was wanted by the police is now in custody.

Police said they found the deputy who was wanted on suspicion of stalking his ex-girlfriend near the Kannapolis Walmart just before midnight Sunday.

Officers pulled over Brian Long and took him to the Cabarrus County jail with no bond.

Eyewitness News also learned that the Rowan County Sheriffs Office sent him a letter on Friday saying he no longer had a job.

The China Grove Police Department said Long installed a tracking device on his ex-girlfriends car.

Long will appear in court Monday.
