DNC host committee releases Thursday speaker schedule

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

The Democratic National Convention Host Committee released the schedule for speakers who will take the stage Thursday night ahead of President Barack Obama's acceptance speech.

The event will take place at Time Warner Cable Arena after severe weather forced the committee to move it from Bank of America Stadium.

The convention will start at 4:30 p.m.

From 4:30 to 6 p.m., the following speakers will take the stage:

-  Kay Hagan, member of the U.S. Senate, North Carolina

- Walter Dalton, Lieutenant Governor, North Carolina

-  G.K. Butterfield, member of the U.S. House of Representatives, North Carolina

- David Price, member of the U.S. House of Representatives, North Carolina

-  Mel L. Watt, member of the U.S. House of Representatives, North Carolina

- James Rogers, CEO of Duke Energy

- Live Performance by James Taylor

- Los Angeles Mayor and chair of the DNCC Antonio R. Villaraigosa will call the convention to order.

- Donna F. Edwards, member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Maryland

- Barney Frank, member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Massachusetts

- Harvey Gantt, former mayor of Charlotte, N.C.

 

The following speakers will take the stage between 6 and 7 p.m.:

- John Lewis, member of the US House of Representatives, Georgia.

- Live Performance by Mary J. Blige

- Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chair of the Democratic National Committee and member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Florida

- Antonio R. Villaraigosa, chair of the 2012 Democratic National Convention Committee and mayor of Los Angeles, Calif.

- Tammy Baldwin, candidate for U.S. Senate, Wisconsin and member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Wisconsin

- Michael Nutter, mayor of Philadelphia, Pa.

 

The following speakers will take the stage between 7 and 8 p.m.:

 - Jim Messina, campaign manager, Obama for America

- Vice presidential nomination introduction by Antonio R. Villaraigosa, chair of the 2012 Democratic National Convention Committee and mayor of Los Angeles, Calif.

- Nominating Remarks - Beau Biden, attorney general of Delaware and son of Vice President Joe Biden

-James E. Clyburn, assistant democratic leader and member of the US House of Representatives, South Carolina

- Scarlett Johansson and Kerry Washington, actresses

 

The following speakers will take the stage between 8 and 9 p.m.:

 - Caroline Kennedy, author and attorney

-  Xavier Becerra, Democratic Caucus vice chair and member of the US House of Representatives, California

- Jennifer Granholm, former governor of Michigan

- Eva Longoria, actress

-  Brian Schweitzer, governor of Montana

- Charlie Crist Jr., former governor of Florida

-  John Kerry, member of the U.S. Senate, Massachusetts

 

The following speakers will take the stage between 9 and 10 p.m.:

- Admiral John B. Nathman, United States Navy, retired

- Introductory Remarks by Angie Flores

- Dr. Jill Biden, second lady of the United States

- Joe Biden, Vice President of the United States

 

The following speakers will take the stage between 10 and 11 p.m.:

- Dick Durbin, member of the U.S. Senate, Illinois

- Barack Obama, President of the United States
