2 protesters arrested

Two protesters were arrested Sunday during a planned march through uptown Charlotte that drew hundreds of people, including members of the Wall Street South demonstrators, officials said.

Police said Anne Marie Wright was arrested after police said she was found with a knife. Chris Wright Stephens was arrested and accused of disorderly conduct, assault on a government official and resisting arrest, police said.

Foxx talks with Blair Miller

Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx stopped by the Channel 9 studios and talked with anchor Blair Miller about his prime time speech scheduled for Tuesday evening.

Foxx said he want to talk about the people of Charlotte and what the city’s residents have been through in recent years.

Concrete cylinders found

CMPD is investigating after they said an officer found concrete cylinders on a bridge overpass on South Tryon Street.

Security in the city is on heightened alert for the DNC.

Michelle Obama’s DNC public schedule released

First lady Michelle Obama will travel to Charlotte Monday afternoon for the convention. 

She will speak on the opening night of the convention Tuesday at 10: 35 p.m.

Social media gives inside access to DNC

Social media sites are providing the public with unprecedented access into the Democratic national Convention.

A social media tracking company, BuzzMgr, said that the hashtag #DNC2012 showed up 45,534 times over a 24-hour period.
