What: Convention Chair Antonio Villaraigosa will preside over the second day of the convention proceedings, and delegates will vote for the Democratic Party candidate for president and will call the convention to order at 5:30 p.m.

Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to deliver the nominating speech at 10:30.

What: President Barack Obama will arrive in Charlotte on Wednesday afternoon, one day ahead of his acceptance speech Thursday night at Bank of America Stadium.

It’s not clear if Obama’s arrival will affect local flights in and out of Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

• West Stonewall Street from South Church Street to South Mint Street

The following restrictions will be in place throughout the day Wednesday:

• All traffic lanes on South and North Tryon streets between West Stonewall Street and West 12th Street will be open for northbound traffic only through Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. Vehicles needing to travel southbound can use South Church Street.
• East Stonewall Street between South Caldwell Street and South Tryon Street will be restricted to a one-way westbound traffic flow between the hours of 5 a.m. and 3 p.m.
