KANNAPOLIS, N.C. —
Dozens of people searching for jobs in manufacturing learned how to compete for them Thursday. A seminar and networking event was held at the R3 Center in Kannapolis. Speakers at the event said manufacturing jobs have changed a lot over the past 10 years. They say employers are paying more attention to whether applicants have computer skills, strong resumes and whether they have training. "They're gonna need to have that training that lets the employer know they're able to go in and think fast on their feet," said Keri Allman, director of RQ Career Services. The R3 Center is offering some resume writing workshops and other classes that will help those in need of a job.
