A father of nine was hit and killed while walking home early Saturday morning, and South Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers said they need help finding the driver.

Troopers said 43-year-old London Coleman was hit and killed walking along SC Highway 99 in Great Falls, S.C. He was just a few hundred feet from his house.

Troopers said they don't know the kind of vehicle that hit Coleman, and they're asking for the public's help in generating new leads.

Coleman's girlfriend said he was a father to nine children.

Monica Eagle has been with Coleman for 16 years. They have seven children together, ages three to 13.

"He was a good daddy. He participated in their sports. He was always there to listen to them. He was a great daddy," she said.

Breanna Coleman, 13, was filled with sadness over the loss of her father.

"When I graduate high school he's not going to be there in the audience and when I get married he's not going to walk me down the aisle," she said.

Eagle said Coleman was probably was walking home from a nearby bar called Shooters, but the road is narrow and doesn't have shoulders.

"I don't know how to feel right now I'm in shock," she said. "There's no way you could put it into words. Somebody you been with for 16 years you got seven kids by him, you can't. There's no way to describe it."

Coleman's daughter has a special message for the suspect tonight.

"If you did kill my Daddy you need to come forward. God sees everything," Breanna Coleman said.
