NORTH CAROLINA —
The federal trial of a former North Carolina House member has been delayed until the spring. A judge signed an order pushing back the trial for Stephen Laroque from February until mid-May. He is accused of theft, money laundering and filing false tax returns. Attorneys for both Laroque and the government asked for the delay because of the complex nature of the case.
