Dozens of passengers have been stranded at Charlotte Douglas International Airport for the last two days, as a result of the winter storm. There have been numerous delays and cancellations; 15 states were affected. Flights to Atlanta are canceled again Wednesday, and travelers trying to reach New Orleans and Myrtle Beach, S.C., were forced to spend another night in Charlotte. In fact, 95 departing flights were canceled Wednesday, and that's down from 130 the night before. One man flew into Charlotte from Dallas two days ago and he said he'll be spending the night at the airport Wednesday night.
“I came to Charlotte hoping to get to Atlanta. Been here for two days, can't even pay for a hotel. It was supposed to be a short business trip for two days,” said Avery Dougherty. The airport is assisting stranded passengers with cots and blankets. Airport officials also say they have de-iced 150 aircraft since Tuesday.
