Police are asking for the public’s help to find a missing man who has medical issues.
They said Emmanuel Mendy, 48, is from the country of Gambia and has been staying with relatives on Long Nook Lane in south Charlotte for three months. They said family members called police Tuesday evening, about eight hours after Mendy left the home to go for a walk.
Family members told police that Mendy regularly walks the neighborhood for 30 to 45 minutes and then returns home. They called police after searching the neighborhood when he didn’t return.
Mendy was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, flip-flops and carrying a white plastic bag. He is described as a black man, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 230 pounds.
Police said Mendy is being treated for several medical issues and is without his medications.
Anyone who sees or has information about Mendy is asked to call 911.
