CHERRYVILLE, N.C. —

The former chief of Cherryville’s Rescue Squad is suing the city.

Tim Gunn said the city owes him about $4,000.

The lawsuit claims Gunn agreed to hold off on his salary while the Rescue Squad went through some money issues.

Gunn also claims he loaned the squad $2,500.

When he resigned last January, Gunn said he was promised he would be paid.

He said the city only gave him $1,200.
