CATABWA COUNTY, N.C. —
Former NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield turned himself in Tuesday after being indicted for allegedly having stolen property.
Mayfield was indicted on Monday on charges of possession of stolen goods and obtaining property by false pretenses.

He was with his wife and his attorney when he turned himself in Tuesday afternoon at the sheriff’s office. Mayfield denied the accusations against him.
The indictments stem from an investigation in which deputies say they found and recovered stolen property on Mayfield’s property last November According to the indictments, some of that property included furniture and electronics.
Investigators said a tip from an informant led them to the Mayfield property near the town of Catawba.
Eyewitness News asked the former NASCAR driver what he wants his fans to know.
“We are just taking it one day at a time and it will eventually all come out,” Mayfield said.
“It is not true?” Eyewitness News asked.
“No, it is not true,” he said.
Mayfield is also facing a charge of possession of methamphetamine after deputies said they found the drug inside Mayfield's home during their November search.
