GASTONIA, N.C. —
Gastonia police are still looking for two people who kidnapped and robbed a man. Channel 9 spoke to Warren Davidson, who said he's thankful to be alive after he was beaten, robbed and left for dead Friday night. "Hate for anyone to go through what I went through," said Davidson. Warren Davidson says he had just got off work. He was headed home and stopped to get a drink at a convenience store. That's when police say two suspects, a male and a female, kidnapped him. "Never made it out of the car. I got out and that's when they approached me from behind," said Davidson. Police said the two then forced him back into the car and drove him to this vacant home on Mauney Avenue. Davidson said they went into the back of the dark home. "That's when they hit me and dragged me to the floor and they stayed on top of me and started pounding me on my ribs and asking for my wallet," he said. Davidson says he was told not to move or he would be shot. Tonight, he's out of work with a broken rib and punctured lung. "I was real scared for my life because the house was vacant and it was dark I was afraid they were going kill me inside the house," he said. Davidson says he's hopeful police catch who did this so it doesn't happen to others. Gastonia police are looking through surveillance video, trying to find the two kidnappers. But so far, there is no good description of them.
