GASTONIA, N.C. —

UPDATE:  Cassandra Ford was found Tuesday, according to Gastonia police. They said no foul play was suspected, but did not release any more details.

Gastonia police are asking for help in their search for a missing 48-year-old woman.

The family of Cassandra Ford said they last spoke with her on Friday. She was slated to leave town but when family members called to pick her up, she didn't answer.

Family members said she was supposed to catch a bus to visit her mother in Baltimore on Saturday.

They said Ford’s phone is now completely turned off and that it's not like her to not be in contact with her family.

“If you know anything just please contact (police). If you saw anything, please just let the people, the investigators know what you saw or heard anything,” said her niece, Janice Swanigan.

Ford's family said she doesn’t have a car and doesn’t drive.

Ford is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and 190 pounds, and has short and curly hair, investigators said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Gastonia police at 704-866-6876.
