HICKORY, N.C. —
For the eighth time in the last month, someone has robbed a restaurant at gunpoint, police said.
Eyewitness News has learned of a reward being offered in the case.
Police made that announcement earlier Tuesday morning in Hickory.
Investigators went inside a Dominos and are working to recover video of the robbery which happened around 10 p.m. Monday evening in the Mountain View community southwest of Hickory.
The description of the suspect is similar to the description in other armed robberies over the past month: a skinny white male approximately 5 foot 9 inches tall.
Sheriff deputies say they are working closely with police in Hickory and are trying to identify the person who has been terrorizing workers for weeks now.
The owner of the Domino’s says he is taking precautions locking the doors at night time.
“It is scary for all of my employees. In all four of my stores, we have to worry about this every day. Hopefully police will get this taken care of soon,” owner David Cooper said.
Cooper told Channel 9 he is also now asking for police escorts for his night time managers as they leave the business to ensure their safety and the safety of other workers.
