CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

The top weather story on Wednesday across the Charlotte area is the wind.

Wind speeds will stay steady in the 10 to 20 mph range, but they could gust to over 30 mph later in the day.

A wind advisory is in effect for the Charlotte area until midnight.

Meanwhile, snow continues in the mountains and has closed schools again. Get the full listing of closings here.

The snow is slowing down, but the wind is a bigger issue in the mountains, with gusts near 60 mph.

Once the winds subside, it will become quite chilly. The next couple of evenings will feature temperatures below freezing.

During the afternoons the rest of the week, the sunshine will push the temperatures back up near 60 degrees with plenty of sunshine.
