Icy road causes 10-car pileup in Watauga Co.
WATAGUA COUNTY, N.C. —
Snow and icy conditions caused a 10-car pileup on Highway 105 near the Watauga/Avery County line Thursday morning.
The accident happened just before 7 a.m. near Smoketree Lodge.
Police had the road shut down and are re-routed traffic.
The road was reopened around 9 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
This was the only area in the mountains reported to have any road issues due to winter weather.
