WAXHAW, N.C. —
Investigators think a fire at a Waxhaw home was intentionally set, the Union County sheriff said.
A home on Lillieshall Lane caught fire early Saturday morning. No one was home at the time of the fire.
While investigators think the fire was intentionally set, they don’t think the crime was a random act, the Sheriff’s Office said. Officials said they couldn’t comment further on the investigation.
Investigators still want to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the neighborhood around 5 a.m. Saturday.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 704-283-3789 or Union County Crime Stoppers at 704-283-5600.
