Iredell County: 3 new cases of rabies

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. —

Animal control officers in Iredell County have said that they have seen three new cases of rabies.

The new cases bring the total number of cases in the county to 12 this year.

The newest cases involved a skunk on Pisgah Road in Statesville and a gray tabby cat on New Salem Road in Statesville, a raccoon on Roundstone Road in Troutman and a gray tabby cat on New Salem Road in Statesville.

Animal control is reminding pet owners to keep pets up to date on vaccines.
