Florida A&M University retired the football jersey number Thursday night worn by the man shot and killed by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer.Jonathan Ferrell played football at FAMU and wore No. 28.Investigators said Ferrell ran at officers when they responded to a call in east Charlotte last month.Officer Randall Kerrick fired several shots, killing Ferrell.Kerrick was charged with voluntary manslaughter hours after the shooting.On Wednesday, Ferrell's fiancée talked to CNN about her relationship with Ferrell.Cache Heidel said Ferrell was the sweetest person she had ever known and, in fact, her pet named for him was Sweets.She also talked about the night he was shot and killed, which was exactly one month ago Wednesday.Read more on her interview here.For complete coverage on the case against the CMPD officer, click here.
