Jury convicts woman who set her house on fire to collect

ROCK HILL, S.C. —

A Rock Hill woman will spend the next year on house arrest for setting her own house on fire and collecting insurance money.

A York County jury convicted Stacy Sindell of the 2011 crime.

The fire at her house on Welborn Street caused $300,000 in damage.

Police charged her with arson a couple weeks after it was set.

Sindell was sentenced to probation for five years.
