CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Heads of state and religious leaders from around the world are in Rome Monday night ready to witness history.
On Tuesday, Pope Francis will be formally installed as the 267th pontiff.
In honor of that, Catholics in Charlotte came together for a Mass Monday night celebrating Pope Francis, praying for him as he asked them to do just hours after he was elected.
Pope Francis is the first Jesuit pope and the first pope from Latin America.
Vice President Joe Biden, who is Catholic, is representing the U.S. in Rome.
