CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
A school employee charged with raping a 12-year-old girl will be in court Thursday. Eyewitness News learned new information about the charges against 38-year-old James Taylor. He faces two counts of indecent liberties with students and two counts of rape, among other charges. Police said the assault happened at Sugar Creek Charter School on North Tryon where Taylor was a suspension coordinator. Some parents said they're sickened by the accusations. "A 12-year-old, a grown man -- that's ridiculous. That's scary because -- especially in school. That's where you have to worry about your children, in school now," said Shermika Harris. According to a letter sent to parents, the school fired Taylor when they learned about the arrest.
