STATESVILLE, N.C. —
A 29-year-old man is facing charges after investigators say he broke into a Statesville home.
Deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said they were called to the home on Aug. 20 after two people broke in and assaulted a woman inside the house.
Investigators said the victim told them a man and a woman had forced their way into the house and then assaulted her. She described the man and the woman and the car they arrived in, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office said James Vernell Jones was arrested in connection with the case and charged with first-degree burglary and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
