Man killed while trying to rob Salisbury man

Police said a man trying to rob a Salisbury homeowner has been shot and killed by his intended victim.

   Salisbury police said Marlon Barber, 23, tried to pull a gun on a man during attempted robbery at the man's home around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

   The men began fighting, and police said the homeowner grabbed the gun and shot Barber in the chest.

   Police said Barber fled to a nearby house, where he collapsed. Officers could not revive him, and police are trying to figure out if the two men knew each other.

   Police said the man who lived at the home was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries to his face.
