CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
On Thursday, Governor-Elect Pat McCrory named the final four people who round out his cabinet, including the key position of Secretary of Transportation.
McCrory picked Tony Tata to run the Department of Transportation. He's from Wake County, a former Army general and former superintendent of Wake County Schools.
"We will quickly set up a bipartisan commission to come up with a 25-year vision to help us focus resources on the most important projects," said Tata.
McCrory also picked two former co-workers at Duke Energy for his cabinet.
Sharon Decker, Duke's first woman to serve as a vice president, will head the Commerce Department. McCrory said her job is to "develop the brand and strategy for North Carolina’s economy" and "develop tax reform and policies to recruit new industries."
Neil Alexander, who worked in human resources at Duke, will run the Office of Personnel. He lives in Denver.
Bill Daughtridge will be secretary of Administration. He's a former House representative who lives in Rocky Mount.
