CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Starting Monday, drivers have to move over or slow down if utility workers are on the side of the road in North Carolina.
It's an expansion to the law that already required drivers to do that for emergency workers. It now includes highway maintenance vehicles and utility vehicles.
Anyone who doesn't obey the law could be fined $250.
