CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. —
The search for the body of a missing Huntersville man in Caldwell County is over.Shortly after 2:30 p.m. Sunday, search crews found the body of 48-year-old Juan Alberdi. He and 10-year-old Delilah Lovett of Charlotte were swimming in Wilson Creek Saturday evening when a swift current swept them away. The victims were visiting the area with their families. They were the only two who got into the water."Once they got in the water they weren't in but just a few seconds and the current was so strong that it swept them away," said Captain Larry Price of the Collettsville Fire Department. The rushing currents and rough terrain made search efforts extremely difficult today for more than 60 rescue crews.Officials said the victims were not wearing life jackets. They said they've responded to five water rescues on Wilson Creek in the past month.
