BURLINGTON, N.C. —
A North Carolina state house candidate is apologizing after a DWI arrest.
Mebane Mayor Pro Tem Patty Phillips was arrested on Saturday on Interstate 40 in Burlington.
Troopers said she had a 0.15 percent blood alcohol content, which is almost twice the legal limit.
Phillips said she made a serious mistake and apologized to her family, friends and community.
Channel 9 checked and her campaign appears to be active online Tuesday.
