CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Eyewitness News obtained new search warrants in the unsolved killing of a pregnant teenager this summer that show police are still getting valuable new information.
In three separate search warrants, detectives asked to look through 17-year-old Hawa Gabbidon's personal e-mail accounts, her Facebook messages to friends and family, and the cellphone text messages of the men who discovered her body and called 911.
People who were close with Hawa Gabbidon told Eyewitness News Monday night that they're thankful police are still working so hard on this case.
"Do you miss her?" asked Eyewitness News.
"I do. I think about her," she responded.
Gabbidon was shot in the head three times in July at Elder Park in North Charlotte
She was barely 17 years old, and two months pregnant with her second child.
"She was definitely trying to get back on track. She had some ups and downs," said her foster mother. Gabbidon was enrolled at a CMS alternative school to complete her education.
In the search warrants obtained by Eyewitness News, police said Gabbidon thought two different men could have been the .father of her unborn child.
One of those men is 22-year-old Darne Brown. The warrants said Brown was the last person to speak with Gabbidon before she was killed.
Police said Gabbidon told Brown she was pregnant earlier that day. Detectives said Brown made arrangements to see her that night, but they never met up.
Detectives said Brown lied to them about where he was that night, and he ended up staying at a house one block away from where Gabbidon was found.
Police said the man who ultimately found Gabbidon and called 911, Timothy Frazier, happens to be friends with Brown.
Frazier called Brown from the scene of Gabbidon's killing, according to search warrants.
Police said Frazier admitted to stealing money from Gabbidon's body and taking her phone .
Gabiddon was killed with a 22-caliber gun. Detectives found a 22-caliber gun in Frazier's home, along with Gabbidon's cellphone, according to search warrants.
