CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
On Saturday, thunderstorms are around the mountains and foothills and a few will try to make a run at Charlotte around 6 p.m.The storms are expected to lose their momentum into the night.The Charlotte area will see some patchy fog on Saturday night.On Sunday afternoon there is potential for scattered storms west of Interstate 77.The top threats will be lightning and very heavy rain.While most of the Charlotte area will dodge storms on Sunday, the heat will be around for it all.Highs will be around 90 with a heat index of 95.Labor Day is expected to be hot with a few storms. Most storms are expected to stay west of Charlotte.Temperatures will slowly cool off later on in the week.
