CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Two lanes of Interstate 85 southbound in west Charlotte reopened Friday morning after a woman was hit and killed on the highway.
Troopers said they found a suicide note next to the woman's body. She was hit by two vehicles, troopers said.
A relative of one of the drivers involved said his nephew first noticed the woman near the retaining wall.
“At that time he saw her and she backed back up, then all of sudden when he went to go past her, she jumped back in front of the vehicle,” Curtis Alexander said.
None of the drivers had serious injuries, and none of them will be charged.
