LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. —
A husband was charged after his wife was found dead Monday morning, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were called out around 7:30 a.m. Monday to 2615 Home Place. Officials found Elaine Ghent, 54, dead in the bedroom. She had been stabbed, according to deputies. Deputies found her husband, John M. Ghent, 54, on the kitchen floor. They said he had injuries after fighting with another family member who found Elaine Ghent. John Ghent was arrested and charged with murder. "Incidents of family violence are especially tough to deal with and our thoughts and prayers are with Ms. Ghent's family," Sheriff Barry S. Faile said.
