Two men are in the Stanly County jail, accused of several armed robberies in Albemarle, according to a news release.
The first happened at the Holiday Inn Express on Aug. 28. When officers were called to the scene, two men, including one with a gun, had fled. Police said video from the lobby's security camera helped to identify the robbers as Jonathan Mark Davis and Vincent Jamal Miller.
An assistant manager at Pizza Hut was robbed at gunpoint while making a deposit Sept. 2. at Uwharrie Bank. Police said the robber was identified as Miller.
Miller and Davis have been charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Police said Miller and Davis identify as gang members.
Both are in jail and have a court date of Sept. 16.
