Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department investigators were called to the Sally's Beauty Shop off of North Tryon Street shortly after noon, after two men with guns drawn stormed into the business and demanded money.
"It is disconcerting that something like this could happen in the middle of the day in broad daylight," said shopper Dave Edwards.
According to store managers, the thieves burst into the store while two employees were inside.
They said one of the men tied up an employee and took her to the back of the store, while the other man grabbed the cash register and some hair products before the two made their getaway.
Police are still searching for the two robbers.
The robbers have been described as two black males in their 40s. One was described wearing a black wig ball cap, while the other was wearing a do-rag.
