Police said three people have been charged in connection with a fatal 2007 shooting.

Someone fired shots into a vehicle on Academy Street in December 2007, killing 43-year-old Tawanna Montgomery, investigators said. Police said there were three other people in the car at the time.

Police said recently obtained information helped homicide detectives identify three suspects in the case.

Emileo Estevez Blount, 22, was arrested on Oct. 26 and charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.  Emmanuel Lee Blount, 23, is currently in the custody of NCDOC and is also charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.  Patrick Alphonso Campbell, 23, was arrested in Virginia on Nov. 1 and charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
