CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Six people were charged during an operation focused on identifying and arresting prostitutes, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
Police said they had received complaints from citizens about robberies that stemmed from prostitution-related crimes in the Frontenac Avenue and Eastway Drive areas.
Uniformed and undercover officers saturated the areas in an effort to respond to the complaints, police said.
Six people were taken into custody during the operation on Wednesday. Five are facing prostitution-related charges, according to police.
Delmonica Cuthbertson, 37,was charged with soliciting crime against nature and loitering for the purpose of prostitution. Wendi Wolfe, 42, was charged with soliciting crime against nature and soliciting prostitution. Lisa Ayers, 42, was charged with soliciting crime against nature and soliciting prostitution. Chantal McFadden, 20, was charged with loitering for the purpose of prostitution and soliciting prostitution. Michela Cornett, 21, was charged with loitering for the purpose of prostitution and soliciting prostitution. Albert Henderson, 22, was charged with possession of a firearm by felon.
