YORK, S.C. —
Police said they busted a major meth operation in York County on Sunday. Authorities arrested Gwedolyn Strikey and Carl Campbell at a home on Cameron Road in York.
The couple could face decades in prison after drug agents discovered a meth lab in their home. Campbell and Strikey are charged with making meth in the presence of a child.
Deputies say Strikey's teenage son was living in the house where meth was cooked in the master bedroom and bathroom. Police said the meth lab was so big that it took more than 12 hours to clean it up. Neighbor Maria Allman saw the crews at work and said she used to see Strikey, but not recently.
"I used to talk to her a lot, but after she lost her job she didn't come around much. She just stayed in the house a lot," said Allman Strikey was jailed with bail set at $280,000. Campbell was jailed with bail set at more than $380,000.
York county drug agents found 10 meth labs in 2011. Three of them exploded.
Police sent Channel 9 some photos of the items that were seized, including packs of pseudoephedrine and cleaning products.
