ALBEMARLE, N.C. —
Albemarle police said a suspect threw more than 20 bags of marijuana out of his car window during a police chase Friday afternoon.
Police said the chase started when an officer saw what he believed to be a drug transaction between Darold Turner and two other individuals.
The officer attempted to stop Turner’s car at the intersection of Anderson Grove Road and Highway 740.
When the officer exited his vehicle and began to approach Turner’s car, Turner drove away.
The chase lasted about 9 minutes and covered several miles before police caught up with Turner.
Turner charges related drugs, attempting to flee an officer and driving the wrong way.
