CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Duke Energy officials said an incident with a disgruntled employee forced a building evacuation Friday morning.
Company officials confirmed to Channel 9 an incident between a contract employee and a manager ended with the employee pulling fire alarms at the building on College Street in uptown.
There were reports someone had set a fire in a trash can, and workers told Channel 9 they saw and smelled smoke in a break room.
Duke officials would not confirm those reports.
Police and fire crews responded, and employees were let back in the building around 10 a.m.
