CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Police are looking for a man who they said cut off his electronic monitor.

Donald Blakney, 23, did not go to a scheduled court appearance on Tuesday and later cut the monitor off near The Plaza and Eastway Drive, according to police.

Blakney is wanted on outstanding warrants for larceny after breaking and entering, felony possession of stolen goods and interfering with an electronic monitoring device, police said. Officers said he’s been on CMPD electronic monitoring since he posted a $20,000 bond on Feb. 9.

Police said Blakney has an extensive criminal history, including multiple arrests for breaking and entering, robbery and probation violations.

Blakney is known to frequent the Beatties Ford Road and Lasalle Street areas, according to police.  Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
