A man is in jail accused of raping a 14-year-old and taking nude photos of her.
Police said the suspect met the girl online, and we are asking if there may be other victims.
Stephen Lamont Ward, 42, is behind bars on Tuesday night accused of statutory rape and indecent liberties with a child.
The victim, police said, is a 14-year-old girl.
Police told Eyewitness News that the two met on the Internet. They said the girl told her parents she was going to Imaginon on June 28. Instead, search warrants Eyewitness News obtained said, "Ward took her to La Casa Hotel on Nations Ford Road to drink alcohol."
The search warrants stated the two had sex. The girl told a detective that Ward "… had taken nude photographs of her after he engaged in sexual activity with her."
That is when the girl's mother started calling her, so Ward dropped her off near her home.
The warrants stated the girl's mother confronted Ward, who told detectives he deleted 15 photos of the girl after the confrontation.
According to the warrants, "...he deleted the fifteen nude photographs of the juvenile victim after his confrontation."
Now Eyewitness News is asking if there could be more victims because one line in the warrant said Ward admitted "he had taken nude photographs of several other females with his camera." The warrants didn't indicate that the other females were underage.
In these warrants, police said they seized evidence, including five memory cards and a camera.
On Tuesday night, CMPD would not comment on camera, but Eyewitness News plans to follow up in the morning to find out if there are any more charges pending.
