Police: Reporter struck by car covering story Wednesday night

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

A television news reporter is recovering in the hospital after being hit by a car at an intersection where the power was out Wednesday night.

Caroline Vandergriff is a reporter for another television station and was reporting on the outages at Kenilworth Avenue and Morehead Street.

Two cars crashed and one hit her while she was standing on the corner of the intersection.

She was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

No one was injured in the cars that were involved.

Power was restored in the area just before 10 p.m.
