CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
A man on probation caught with high-powered weapons in his home told Eyewitness News he doesn't think he did anything wrong.
Police showed Channel 9 guns, ammunition and marijuana they said they seized from Satchel Bass' Charlotte home.
They include an assault rifle and armor-piercing bullets.
Bass said he thought he could have the guns because he bought them legally before his probation.
"It's for protection. It's 2013. There is crazy stuff going on in the world. What do you want me to do?" he said.
Bass's rap sheet includes assault on a government official, car theft, drug and weapons charges.
He's already out of jail on the new gun and drug charges.
