Police: SC volunteer firefighter charged with impersonating officer

YORK COUNTY, S.C. —

A York County volunteer firefighter is facing charges after police said he made an illegal traffic stop.

Deputies said David Williams stopped a teenage girl for speeding on Ridge Road using flashing red lights mounted on his truck.

Deputies said Williams called 911 after the stop to have her cited.

When police arrived, they arrested Williams for impersonating an officer.
