Police: Teens busted for running prescription drug ring at school

FORT MILL, S.C. —

Four Nation Ford High School students are in trouble after a parent told police they were operating a drug ring on campus.

Fort Mill police said two 14-year-old and two 15-year-old students sold and traded prescription drugs at school until a parent found out.

Nation Ford’s resource officer caught the students with Xanax, hydrocodone and Bupropion, which is used to treat depression and ADHD.

Police said prescription pills are now the drug of choice for teens, raising concerns about the dangers of popping these pills.

“You don’t know how a person’s going to react to a medication that’s not prescribed to them,” Fort Mill Police Captain Bryan Zachary said.

Police are still investigating, but they don’t think any more students were involved.
