SOUTH CAROLINA —

Researchers are hoping to study whether a devastating train wreck in Graniteville, where a deadly chemical was spilled, affected the health of residents in the area.

Eight years have passed since a Norfolk Southern freight train crashed in Graniteville, spilling chlorine that killed nine people and sent hundreds to the hospital.

On Saturday, researchers are holding a health fair with the hopes of studying the lung capacity of people who live in the area.

Last Saturday a memorial service was held to remember those who died.
